In Docker Desktop the file path can be changed to move the virtual disk image for the saved images/volumes etc…
You can attempt to change the path and it will try to move the image file to the new location, sometimes this hangs or takes a long time. If it hangs sometimes restart Docker Desktop will complete the task.
If this fails you can close Docker Desktop, rename the image file and Docker Desktop will create a new image when it starts.
You can then delete the new image and move the original image in to this location then rename it back to the original name.
